Special session description:
Intelligent Control methods represent an interaction of three fields: automatic control, operations research, and artificial intelligence. Incorporating computational intelligence into control systems can be beneficial for handling substantial uncertainties, optimising system performance, and even modifying the system’s goals during operation. Since its inception, the field of Intelligent Control has received widespread attention which has helped its development, but also caused frequent misuse of the term. Most commonly, conventional adaptive control techniques which use mathematical formulations as opposed to computational intelligence are labelled “intelligent control”. As a result, the benefits offered by Intelligent Control methods can often be overlooked.
Topics: authors are invited to submit papers on one or more of the following topics (include but not limited to):
- Learning and adaptive control
- Optimal control
- Robust control systems
- Autonomous systems
- Fuzzy logic control systems
- Neural control systems
- Evolutionary control systems
- Knowledge based systems
- Fault detection isolation and recovery
- Real time control
- On board control
- Control under uncertainty
- Hybrid intelligent control methods
- Applications and benchmarks of intelligent control
Submission Guidelines: manuscripts should be prepared according to the standard format of regular papers specified in IEEE WCCi2020 (Conference submission page). Paper submission is online through the WCCI2020 submission website https://wcci2020.org/submissions/ :
- choose IJCNN: https://ieee-cis.org/conferences/ijcnn2020/upload.php
- then, as “Main research topic*”, choose “SC15. Intelligent Control: Methods and Applications”
Papers submitted for this session will be peer-reviewed with the same criteria used for other contributed papers. All accepted papers in the special sessions will be included in the published conference proceedings.
