Optimisation, Uncertainty Quantification and Data Analytics for the Engineering Sector

When: 2nd of May 2017
Where: Glasgow, UK
Event websites:
Engage with Strathclyde calendar of events
Engage with ICELab event

Description: The event is aiming at presenting the activities of the  Intelligent Computational Engineering Laboratory (ICE-lab) through an overview of the knowledge exchange activities of the centre with industries in the sector of oil and gas, automotive and aerospace. The problems presented are in the field of multidisciplinary optimal system control and design, uncertainty treatment for resilient engineering, data analytic and data driven optimisation. .
The event will run as a conference and networking event for current and potentially new industrial partners. Starting with a plenary talk given by the centre, there will be an opportunity also for delegates to present an overview of their work, needs and expectations in the area, with a chance to explore the possibility of working together on current and future projects. A networking circle event will follow the presentations. During the networking circle industrial members will sit on round tables and each will spend some time talking through their current business issues they’d like advice on which the experts from ICE can use as staring point for the discussion. A networking lunch will be provided to give the possibility of continuing privately potentially interesting collaborations that arose during the round tables. The event will conclude after lunch with a presentation on the possible means of collaborations between Strathclyde and industrial members and the presentation of the Concurrent and Design Collaborative Studio facility. The afternoon is left for private meetings.
The outcome of the event is aiming at gathering the interest of industries about CPD courses and feasibility studies, learning from their problems and proposing new solutions.
